How to enable polls in your event?

Last updated: August 13, 2025

Polls are a powerful way to engage your audience and gather real-time feedback during your events. You can use polls both during live streams and in on-demand recordings, allowing viewers to participate regardless of when they watch. Whether you want to run Q&A sessions, collect opinions, or simply keep your audience actively involved, Videosync’s polling features help you create interactive experiences.

You can create polls to your event site under Audience interactions.

How to create poll questions?

Go to Polls and start by choosing the type of the poll

There are 4 different poll types

  • Multiple choice: You can ask question and let attendees to pick multiple options.
  • Radio: You can ask question and let attendees to pick only one option.
  • Open text: Ask attendees for open text. Results are rendered as a word cloud that updates live as answers come in.
  • Rating: Let attendee to give a rating between 1-5 In all poll types, you can add open text field by clicking Add extra field. You can also allow multiple answers, as well as show the poll results immediately to the attendees.

Open text poll (word cloud) settings

Open text polls have a couple of extra options that control how the word cloud behaves on the event site, in the slideshow poll slide, and on the fullscreen producer view.

  • Max words shown in results view — caps how many unique words appear in the word cloud. Leave it empty to use the per-view defaults (30 in the inline votebox popup, 60 on the slideshow poll slide). Set a value to apply the same cap to both surfaces. Useful for very busy polls where you want to highlight only the most-mentioned words.
  • Allow multiple votes per participant — when on, a participant can submit several different answers while the poll is open instead of being limited to one. Each submission is appended as its own vote, so the word cloud aggregates all of them. The “thank you for voting” popup stays open and the input clears so the participant can keep typing.
  • Max votes per participant (only shown when “Allow multiple votes per participant” is on) — optional cap on how many answers a single participant can submit. Leave empty for unlimited. Once a participant has used all their votes the popup closes and (if “Show results immediately after voting” is enabled) the word cloud is shown instead.

The word cloud itself now keeps existing words in place between updates and animates new entries in from the center, so the layout stays stable as the cloud grows — useful when many participants are answering at the same time.

General settings - appearance:
